This Notice (together with our Terms of Use and any other documents referred to in it) sets out the basis on which any personal data we collect from you, or that you provide to us, will be processed by us. Please read the following carefully to understand our views and practices regarding your personal data and how we will treat it. By visiting any of our websites you are accepting and consenting to the practices described in this Notice

1.  What personal data do we gather?

1.1  Personal data that relates directly to you (e.g. your name and address).

1.2  Personal data that does not directly identify you (e.g. how you might browse our website).

2.  How we use your personal data

We will only collect your personal data with your permission or where it is essential to provide you with our services.

2.1  We might use your personal data to:

(1)   Remember you when you visit our website and see how your journey through it by using cookies. We explain what cookies are in Section 6 and how you can manage them in Section 7, below;

(2)   Use your anonymised personal data to identify your interests. We might then put your anonymised personal data into audience segments, which means we can serve you advertisements and offers that will interest you.

(3)   Make sure the products and services we provide to you are correctly administered;

(4)   Contact you by email, mail, telephone, sms text message or through social media to let you know about any of our products, services or promotions (which, in some cases may be provided by third parties) but only according to the permissions you give us - see Section 4;

(5)   Make sure materials on the website or in apps are presented in the most effective way for you and your computer or mobile device;

(6)   Collect and log numeric internet addresses to improve the website and to monitor website usage;

(7)   Assess and understand our users’ feedback and identify usage hotspots;

2.2  If you have subscribed to any of our services, we will use the personal data you provide to keep you updated on those services unless you have told us otherwise.

3.  How do we gather personal data?

3.1  Personal data is gathered in the following ways:

(1)   indirectly (e.g. using website technology or technology when you use an application on a mobile device); and

(2)   directly (e.g. when you buy a subscription, sign up to create a profile, download a mobile device application or you otherwise provide your personal data when you interact with us).

4.  How do you decide how you want to hear from us?

4.1  We always explain why and how we might contact you at the point you give your personal data to us. We may contact you by email, phone, post and sms text and via social media.

4.2  We also provide the means for you to grant or withhold your permission for us to contact you.  We do this by using opt-in boxes. We use these to gain your permission to contact you about our wider range of goods and services.

4.3  Sometimes, we need your personal data to be able to contact you to provide the service you wish to use. In those cases, by signing up to the service you give us permission to send you service communications and we will not offer you the chance to opt-out from receiving those messages.

4.4  We might also offer you the opportunity to hear from specific companies and organisations that we might work in association with. We will always name those companies and organisations and provide you with the opportunity to hear from them by means of an opt-in tick box.

4.5  If there are no tick boxes, it’s because we will not use your personal data for any other purpose than that for which you give it .

4.6  If you have signed up to receive marketing from us by text, to stop this, please reply STOP to the last message you received.

5.  Accessing and updating your personal data

5.1  You can update your details and marketing preferences by accessing your account pages on the website or by emailing hello@doqit.io.

5.2  You have the right to access the personal data held about you. To obtain a copy of that personal data, please send an email to hello@doqit.io.

You may have to provide proof of identification before we can respond to your request.

6.  Cookies

6.1  A cookie is a small piece of technology that is placed on your computer when you visit certain websites. When we refer to “cookies” we include other technologies with similar purposes.

6.2  We use the following types of cookie:

(1)   Analytics cookies that anonymously remember your computer or mobile device when you visit our website.  They keep track of browsing patterns and help us to build up a profile of how our readers use the website.  We might use that personal data to serve advertisements that might be of particular interest to you on our and other websites

(2)   Service cookies that help us to make our website work as efficiently as possible; remember your registration and login details; remember your settings preferences; and meter the number of pages you view for the purpose of administering subscriptions.

(3)   Third party advertising and analytics cookies, which are placed by or on behalf of independent advertisers who are advertising on our site.  These cookies may be placed within the advertisement and elsewhere on our site.  They are anonymous – they cannot identify individuals.  They are used for statistical analysis by allowing the advertiser to count how many people have seen their advertisement or have seen it more than once. They might also allow the advertiser to tailor advertising to you when you visit other websites.

6.3  We have no access to third party cookies and third party organisations have no access to ours.  The third party organisations that place cookies have their own strict privacy policies.

7.  Managing your cookies preferences

7.1  Most browsers allow you to turn off cookies. To do this look at the “help” menu on your browser. Switching off cookies may restrict your use of the website and/or delay or affect the way in which it operates.

7.2  If you would prefer to just restrict third party cookies, you can do so on your browser.

7.3  If you would like to disable "third party" cookies generated by advertisers or providers of targeted advertising services, you can turn them off by going to the third party's website and getting them to generate a one-time "no thanks" cookie that will stop any further cookies being written to your device. 8.  Ad Blockers

8.1  We use JavaScript to detect ad blockers.  We use the script in the source code of our website.  It confirms advertisements are correctly displayed on your device by simulating the display of the advertisement.

8.2  By detecting ad blockers, we do not store any personal data on your device and we do not process any of your personal data.

8.3  We may display a message to advise you that we have detected that you are using and ad blocker.

8.4  We reserve the right to restrict your access your access to some or all of our website while you have an ad blocker turned on.

9.  Protecting your personal data

9.1  The password you provide when registering with the website is encrypted to ensure protection against unauthorised access to your personal data.

9.2  We invest in high-quality security and do our utmost to protect user privacy. No data transmission over the Internet can be entirely secure, and therefore we cannot guarantee the security of your personal data and/or use of the website. Any personal data that you send is at your own risk and may be read by others. However, once we have received your personal data we use strict procedures to protect the security of your personal data.

10.  Disclosing your personal data

We may share your personal data with:

10.1  Selected third parties including:

10.2  business partners, suppliers and sub-contractors for the performance of any contract we enter into with them or you;

10.3  analytics and search engine providers that assist Harsco in the improvement and optimisation of its site;

10.4  We will disclose your personal information to third parties:

10.5  In the event that we sell or buy any business or assets, in which case we will disclose your personal data to the prospective seller or buyer of such business or assets.

10.6  If all or some of our assets are acquired by a third party, in which case personal data held by us about our customers and employees will be one of the transferred assets.

10.7  If we are under a duty to disclose or share your personal data in order to comply with any legal obligation, or in order to enforce or apply our terms of use and other agreements; or to protect the rights, property, or safety of Doqit, its customers, or others.

11.  The Legal Basis For Processing Your Personal Data

In order to comply with applicable data protection laws, We are required to set out the legal basis for the processing of your personal data. In accordance with the purposes for which we collect and use your personal data, as set out above, the legal basis for processing your personal data will typically be one of the following:

11.1  Our or our third parties’ legitimate business interests (for example, in maintaining and promoting our business by providing customers with feedback opportunities or other instances where we have carried out a legitimate interests assessment and have established an existing legitimate interest);

11.2  the performance of a contract that we have in place with you;

11.3  your consent (where appropriate);

11.4  to protect your vital interests; or

11.5  compliance with our legal obligations.

12.  Where we store your personal data

The personal data that we collect from you is stored on our servers. Your personal data may be transferred within or outside either the UK or the European Economic Area. By submitting your personal data, you agree to this transfer, storing or processing. We will take all steps reasonably necessary to ensure that your data is treated securely and in accordance applicable law and this Notice.

Unfortunately, the transmission of information via the internet is not completely secure. Although we will do our best to protect your personal data, we cannot guarantee the security of your data transmitted to our site; any transmission is at your own risk. Once we have received your information, we will use strict procedures and security features to try to prevent unauthorised access.

13.  Records Retention

We will keep your personal data only for as long as we need it, or as otherwise prescribed by law, for the purposes set out above, and so this period will vary depending on your interactions with us. For example, where you have contracted with us, we will keep a record of your payment for the period necessary for invoicing, tax and warranty purposes. We may also keep a record of correspondence with you (for example if you have made a complaint about our products or services) for as long as is necessary to protect us from a legal claim. Please note that where you unsubscribe from our marketing communications, we will keep a record of your email address to ensure we do not send you marketing emails in future.

14.  Data Subject Rights

Data subjects whose personal data we process may have rights in relation to their personal data which include:

14.1  Right to rectification. Data subjects may request that we rectify any inaccurate or incomplete personal data.

14.2  Right to withdraw consent. Data subjects may at any time withdraw their consent to the processing of their personal data carried out by Doqit on the basis of their previous consent. Such withdrawal will not affect the lawfulness of processing based on such previous consent.

14.3  Right to make a subject access request (SAR). Data subjects may request in writing copies of their personal data. However, compliance with such requests is subject to certain limitations and exemptions and the rights of other individuals. Each request should make clear that a SAR is being made. You may also be required to submit a proof of your identity and any payment permitted by law, where applicable.

14.4  Right to object to processing including automated processing and profiling. We do not make automated decisions about data subjects. However, we may rely on information provided by third parties such as credit reference agencies which may score data subjects on the basis of automated decisions. Profiling may be carried out for business administration purposes, such as monitoring trends in user visits of our website and in order to deliver relevant ads to users’ devices. We will comply with valid objection requests unless we have a compelling overriding legitimate ground for the continuation of our processing or we have another lawful reason to refuse such request. We will comply with each valid opt-out request in relation to marketing communications.

14.5  Right to erasure. Data subjects may request that we erase their personal data. We will comply unless there is a lawful reason for not doing so. For example, there may be an overriding legitimate ground for keeping the personal data, such as, our business record retention obligations that we have to comply with.

14.6  Restriction. Data subjects may request that we restrict our processing of their personal data in various circumstances. We will comply, unless there is a lawful reason for not doing so, such as, a legal obligation to continue processing your personal data in a certain way.

14.7  Right to data portability. In certain circumstances, data subjects may request the controller to provide a copy of their personal data in a structured, commonly used and machine-readable format and have it transferred to another provider of the same or similar services. We do not consider that this right applies to our Services. However, to the extent it does, we will comply with such transfer request. Please note that a transfer to another provider does not imply erasure of the data subject’s personal data which may still be retained for legitimate and lawful purposes.

14.8  Right to lodge a complaint with the supervisory authority.
