The questions people ask us
Where are my documents stored?
Your files are stored privately with Amazon Web Services in the UK (London), and your account details are held in a secure cloud database in the EU. Nothing you store is ever public.
Is my data encrypted?
Yes, both on the move and in storage. Everything travelling between the app and our servers is encrypted using TLS, and your files and data are encrypted where they're stored, using AES-256.
Who can open my files?
Only you, from your signed-in account, unless you share them. Files open through private links that expire within minutes, so a link can't be passed around and reused.
What happens when Smart Scan reads a document?
Your document is sent securely to our AI provider purely to read it and suggest a title, category and key dates. They work only on our instructions, and your documents are not used to train AI models. Your document stays in your Doqit account.
Can anyone at Doqit see my documents?
We don't browse your documents. There's no tool on our side for looking through what people store, and access to our systems is limited to the small team who run the service.
Do you sell my data?
No. We never sell your data, and we only use it to run Doqit for you.
What if someone else picks up my phone?
You can lock Doqit with Face ID or your fingerprint. Documents you save for offline use are encrypted on your device with a key that never leaves it, and they're removed when you sign out.
Who sees what I share?
Nothing is shared unless you choose to share it. Family sharing only shows what you pick, and you can stop sharing at any time.
Do you see my card details?
No. Subscriptions are handled by Apple, Google or Stripe, so your card details never reach us.
Can I delete everything?
Yes. Delete any document whenever you like. Delete your account and your documents go with it.
